O’Hara finished with 73 – his worst score of the week – for a total of 212, which was enough to give him a one-shot victory over Brian McCormack (Castle Barna) and Kyle Dunne (New Ross).

RUNNER UP Brian McCormack (Castle Barna) 213
THIRD Kyle Dunne (New Ross) 213

Grammar School success

Sligo Grammar School clinched the inaugural Under 15 Schools Championship by four shots at Seapoint.

TJ Ford led the way for Sligo, carding a nett 69 off an eight handicap, while David Brady (6) came in with a 75 and Ben Rooney (13) carded a 79.

That was enough for victory on a marvellous Seapoint links, with Newbridge College clinching the runners-up spot on a combined countback from Bangor Grammar. St Augustine’s, Dungarvan, finished fourth.
